The dwelling, as the materialized reflection of the culture of a distinct social organism, namely the family, along with many other functions, fulfilled the very important role of religious center for the unit’s ideological whole, the family. From the distant past, the family’s most holy relics, and various objects fulfilling sacred functions, were kept in the home; there, in the hearth, burnt the “sacred” flame; there stood the mother pillar, as a symbol of family unity; there were stored various idols.

An Italian missionary Archangelo Lamberti and his work "The Holy Colchis"

Archangelo Lamberti was a member of Theatin Catholic Order, a monk from Naples, who was sent in Georgia according the decision of Pope Urban VIII by The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) together with another missioner Giuseppe Judiche to spread Catholic faith. For this mission he arrived in Kartli in 1631 and joined the Catholic Mission of Gori. Lamberti was received by the Georgian king Teimuraz I in his residence. About two years later Lamberti together with Judiche moved to Odishi Principality, where the missionaries continued their activities under the protection of influential prince of Odishi, Levan II Dadiani (1611-1657). Lamberti generally lived in Georgia for 18 years.

Based on the use of the paleogeographical analogy method, is expressed the consideration that as a result of global warming in condition of permanent rise of sea level, by the end of XXI century the sea will cover the Georgian coastal terrain within 200-300 m from the modern coastline zone.
